VOD furnace top gun
The oxygen gun is installed on the vacuum cover of the VOD furnace and inserted into the vacuum chamber through a movable sealing device. There are two types of oxygen lance transmission methods, one for small furnace type motor gear screw transmission; Another type is the chain drive of the reducer, with a Laval type nozzle. When the oxygen pressure is 0.49-0.59MPa and the oxygen lance is designed with a Mach number of 3 and an expansion half angle of 5, the oxygen blowing process is very smooth. The height of the oxygen lance from the steel surface is about 1.0m for 13tFOD and 14-1.8m for 50tFOD furnace. Due to the supersonic speed of the oxygen jet sprayed by this oxygen lance, a large total jet pressure can be obtained under low inlet pressure conditions. Therefore, it is allowed to blow oxygen at low oxygen pressure and far from the steel surface. This is not only beneficial for improving the service life of the oxygen lance, but also extremely suitable for special steel plants that are difficult to obtain high-pressure oxygen.
